JoAnn Auger

Founder of the Behind the Badge program, JoAnn is a sought-after speaker, trainer and certified leadership coach. She supports law enforcement communities in addressing a silent yet systemic problem—the deterioration of law enforcement families.
With over 30 years’ experience in organizational development in both corporate and non-profit establishments, JoAnn’s result-oriented approach empowers organizations to effectively implement change, achieve goals and overcome institutionalized obstacles. Her unique ability to effectively influence law enforcement culture stems not only from her professional expertise but also her perspective as a policer officer’s spouse and a family legacy of officers.
Through her personal insights into the ‘code of silence’, the distinct brotherhood between officers and the powerful bonds officers share with their families, JoAnn facilitates a multi-faceted training program. Implementing a systemic approach to organizational change, JoAnn identifies three key audiences for her distinct and customized trainings and coaching—law enforcement leadership, the officer community as well as the spouses and domestic partners of officers.
JoAnn works with leadership to create a sustainable culture shift by identifying the communication gaps and needed structure within the law enforcement organization. Her process includes addressing the habits needed to support communication, training to those habits, and then structuring accountability for sustained change.
