Lt. Col. Len Terry

Director of the Office of Performance and Internal Controls for VA State Police

Lieutenant Colonel Terry currently serves as the Director of the Office of Performance Management and Internal Controls for the Virginia Department of State Police. This Office is responsible for the agency’s Strategic Development, Information Security, Internal Audit, and Staff Inspection Sections. Prior to serving in this position he was the Deputy Director for the Bureau of Field Operation, which consisted of supervising and managing the uniform personnel assigned to the field divisions across the state. Prior to the above assignments, Lieutenant Colonel Terry has served as a field division commander, Director of Professional Standards, and the Director of the State Police Academy.

 

Lieutenant Colonel Terry has a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Mary Washington and a Master of Science Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. He has also attended a number of Professional Schools to include the Administrative Officers Management School at North Carolina State University, Professional Executive Leadership School at the University of Richmond, Public Safety Institute and the Virginia Executive Institute sponsored and hosted by Virginia Commonwealth University.

 

Lieutenant Colonel Terry is a member of the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police, International Association of Chiefs of Police and the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives.
